Buy a 3D Printer in Instalments in Saudi Arabia: Tabby and Tamara
Tabby and Tamara let you split the cost of a 3D printer into smaller payments at checkout. This guide explains how it works in Saudi Arabia, what it costs at Black Arrow 3D, and when paying in full is the cheaper choice.
Quick answer
Yes, you can buy a 3D printer in instalments in Saudi Arabia using Tabby or Tamara. You choose the provider at checkout, the provider checks your eligibility in a minute or two, and you pay the first instalment immediately. The number of payments, your spending limit and any provider fees depend on the provider and on you as a customer. At Black Arrow 3D, pay-later orders carry a service fee of 100 SAR on orders that include a printer, 50 SAR on filament-only orders and no fee on 3D printed items; the fee is shown at checkout before you confirm. Example: the Bambu Lab A2L Combo at 4,200 SAR becomes 4,300 SAR with the fee, or 4 payments of 1,075 SAR. If you can pay in full by card, mada, Apple Pay or bank transfer, you save the 100 SAR.
How Tabby and Tamara work
Tabby and Tamara are “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) services widely used by Saudi online shoppers. They pay the store on your behalf and you repay them in scheduled instalments, usually every month, from a card you link to your account.
- Add the printer (and any filament) to your cart on Black Arrow 3D.
- At checkout, choose Tabby or Tamara as the payment method. The pay-later service fee appears in the order total.
- You are redirected to the provider to sign in or create an account with your mobile number.
- The provider decides whether to approve the purchase and shows you the payment schedule.
- You pay the first instalment, the order is confirmed, and the printer ships like any other order.
Approval basics
The decision belongs to the provider, not the store. In general, providers ask for:
- A Saudi mobile number to verify your account.
- Valid identification as requested by the provider (for example a national ID or Iqama).
- A debit or credit card to take the first payment and the following instalments.
- A good repayment record with that provider, if you have used it before.
If a purchase is declined, it is usually because the order is above your current limit with that provider. You can try the other provider, reduce the order, or pay by card, mada, Apple Pay or bank transfer instead.
Typical limits
There is no single limit that applies to everyone. Each provider sets a spending limit per customer, and it can differ between customers and change over time; new users often start lower and see limits grow with on-time repayments. Because 3D printers cost thousands of riyals, check the limit shown in your Tabby or Tamara app before you order a larger machine such as the Bambu Lab P2S Combo (currently 6,299 SAR).
A real example: splitting a printer into 4 payments
The table uses current catalog prices (SAR, VAT included) and an even split into 4 payments, which is how Tabby’s pay-in-4 plan works. Your exact schedule, and any provider-side fees, are shown by the provider at checkout.
| Order | Price | Delivery | Pay-later fee | Total | Each of 4 payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bambu Lab A2L Combo | 4,200 | Free (regular) | 100 | 4,300 | 1,075 |
| Bambu Lab A1 mini Combo | 2,699 | 30 (Standard) | 100 | 2,829 | 707.25 |
| Bambu Lab P2S Combo | 6,299 | Free (regular) | 100 | 6,399 | 1,599.75 |
Regular delivery is free on 3,000 SAR or more of printers, which is why the A2L and P2S rows have no delivery charge, while the A1 mini Combo uses Standard delivery at 30 SAR (4–5 business days). Fast delivery (2–3 business days) costs 50 SAR.
The pay-later service fee at Black Arrow 3D
| What is in the order | Pay-later service fee |
|---|---|
| Includes a 3D printer | 100 SAR |
| Filament only | 50 SAR |
| 3D printed items (gifts, decor, keychains) | No fee |
The fee applies only when you choose Tabby or Tamara, and it is always shown in the checkout total before you confirm, so there are no surprises after the order.
When paying in full is cheaper
- Whenever you can afford it upfront. Paying by card (Visa, Mastercard, mada), Apple Pay or bank transfer avoids the 100 SAR pay-later fee on a printer order. That alone covers a spool of filament, which costs from 59 SAR.
- On small add-on orders. A filament-only order paid later adds 50 SAR, which is close to the price of a whole 1 kg spool of KINGROON PLA (59 SAR). Buying filament together with the printer, or paying for it in full, is better value.
- If you might miss a payment. Providers can charge late fees under their own terms. Read the provider’s terms and set up reminders.
Instalments make the most sense when spreading the cost lets you buy the right printer now instead of a cheaper one you will outgrow, for example choosing the A2L Combo for its 330 x 320 x 325 mm build volume instead of a smaller machine.
Tips before you split the payment
- Budget for 2–4 spools of filament in the same order so you can start printing on day one.
- Check stock on the product page; only in-stock items ship the same day when ordered before 4 pm (Saudi time), Sunday to Thursday.
- Ask on WhatsApp (+966 56 022 4715) if you are unsure which printer fits your budget.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy a 3D printer with Tabby in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Choose Tabby at checkout on Black Arrow 3D; if Tabby approves the purchase, you pay in 4 instalments. A 100 SAR pay-later service fee applies to orders that include a printer and is shown at checkout.
Is buying a 3D printer with Tamara free of fees?
Not at Black Arrow 3D: a pay-later service fee applies (100 SAR with a printer, 50 SAR for filament only, none for 3D printed items). Tamara may also have its own terms, such as late fees, so check them in the app.
What is the maximum amount I can pay in instalments?
It depends on the provider and on your account. Each customer gets an individual limit, which you can see in the Tabby or Tamara app. If a printer is above your limit, try the other provider or pay by card or bank transfer.
Does the printer ship later if I pay in instalments?
No. Once the first instalment is paid the order is confirmed and ships on the same schedule as any other order: same day for in-stock items ordered before 4 pm Sunday to Thursday, otherwise the next business day.
