Frequently Asked Questions
General
What areas of Saudi Arabia does Black Arrow serve?
We serve clients nationwide across Saudi Arabia, with our strongest coverage in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar, and the Eastern Province. Site visits, installation, and maintenance are arranged based on your project location.
What industries does Black Arrow work with?
We work with hospitals and healthcare facilities, government facilities, commercial buildings (malls, offices, retail), industrial plants, hotels and hospitality, and aviation facilities — each with infrastructure solutions tailored to that sector's compliance and operational needs.
How do I request a quote?
You can request a quote through our contact page, by calling +966 560 224 715, or via WhatsApp. Include your project type and location so we can route your request to the right team.
Does Black Arrow only supply equipment, or do you also install and maintain it?
We handle the full lifecycle — supply, installation, testing/commissioning, and ongoing maintenance — for our core service lines (isolated power panels, EV charging, UPS, HVAC, lighting, firefighting, and electrical distribution).
Is Black Arrow able to work on government or public-sector projects?
Yes, we work with government and public-sector facilities, supplying electrical distribution, lighting, and fire safety systems engineered to code and aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 infrastructure goals.
How long does a typical installation project take?
Timelines vary by scope — a single UPS or EV charger installation can be completed in days, while a full electrical distribution upgrade or hospital IPP installation across multiple rooms takes longer. We provide a project timeline as part of every quote after a site assessment.
Do you offer maintenance contracts after installation?
Yes, we offer scheduled preventive maintenance for all our core service lines — including battery testing for UPS systems, filter/coil maintenance for HVAC, and periodic inspection and testing for fire safety and electrical distribution systems.
How can I become a partner or supplier with Black Arrow?

Isolated Power Panels
What is an isolated power panel (IPP) and why do hospitals need one?
An isolated power panel is a hospital-grade electrical system required in operating rooms and other wet procedure locations under NFPA 99. It electrically isolates the power supply so a single ground fault doesn't interrupt power to life-critical equipment — a line isolation monitor alerts staff to the fault instead of cutting power outright.
Which IPP brands does Black Arrow supply?
We supply Bender isolated power panels (we are not an authorized or exclusive Bender dealer) and PG LifeLink IPP panels. Our designs are also compatible with Schneider Electric-style isolated power system specifications where a project calls for it.
What standards do your isolated power panels comply with?
Our IPP installations are engineered to NFPA 99, NFPA 70, and applicable SASO requirements for installed electrical equipment in Saudi Arabia.
EV Solutions
What EV chargers does Black Arrow install?
We install AC Level 2 chargers (7–22kW) for workplaces and residential compounds, and DC fast chargers (50–350kW) for high-throughput commercial sites, with OCPP-compliant network management for multi-site operations and integrated POS/RFID payment where needed.
Can Black Arrow set up EV charging with a payment system?
Yes — we integrate POS, RFID card access, and mobile app payment options into commercial EV charging installations, along with OCPP-based remote monitoring and network management.
UPS Solutions
What size UPS system do I need?
It depends on your critical load and required runtime. We start with a load assessment to size the correct UPS capacity (we install systems from 1kVA up to 1MVA) and battery bank, rather than recommending a size before understanding your actual load profile.
What's the difference between online, line-interactive, and standby UPS?
Online (double-conversion) UPS continuously conditions power and offers the highest protection, suited to mission-critical loads. Line-interactive UPS regulates voltage and switches to battery on outage, a good middle-ground option. Standby UPS is the simplest and most economical, switching to battery only when mains power fails outright. We recommend the right topology based on your equipment's sensitivity and your budget.
HVAC Solutions
Do you supply HVAC systems for both new buildings and retrofits?
Yes. We size systems based on a real load calculation for your building — whether it's new construction or a retrofit — rather than rule-of-thumb estimates, covering VRF/VRV systems, central chiller plants, and packaged rooftop units.
Firefighting Solutions
What fire suppression systems does Black Arrow install?
We install water sprinkler systems, clean-agent suppression (FM-200, CO₂), and water mist systems, matched to your facility's occupancy type and hazard classification, along with addressable fire alarm detection and hydrant/hose reel systems.
Are your fire safety systems compliant with Saudi civil defense requirements?
Yes, our fire detection and suppression designs follow NFPA 13 and NFPA 72 standards alongside Saudi Civil Defense requirements, with full testing and documentation provided for approval.
Electrical & Power Distribution
What electrical panel types does Black Arrow supply?
We supply and install main distribution boards (MDB), sub-distribution boards (SMDB), final distribution boards (DB), switchgear, and MCC/PLC/SCADA-integrated control panels for both low-voltage and medium-voltage systems.
Hospital Modular OR Rooms
What does a modular operating room (OR) project typically include?
A modular OR project typically includes design and layout planning, factory-prefabricated wall, ceiling, and service panels, on-site installation coordinated with your existing isolated power, medical gas, and HVAC systems, and testing/certification of air changes and pressure differentials before the room is released for clinical use.
Lead Sheets for Hospitals
How is lead shielding thickness determined for an X-ray or CT room?
Shielding thickness is calculated per room from the equipment's workload, use factor, occupancy factor of adjacent spaces, and distance — not a single standard number applied everywhere. We carry out the shielding survey and calculation before fabricating and installing the lead sheet, then verify the finished room with post-installation leakage testing.
