Frequently Asked Questions
What's the actual difference between DALI and standard 0-10V dimming control?
0-10V dimming sends one analog signal to every fixture on the circuit — they all dim together. DALI addresses each fixture (or driver) individually over a digital bus, so any group of fixtures can be zoned, scheduled, or fault-reported without adding new wiring runs. The dimming itself looks similar either way; the real difference is in commissioning flexibility and fault visibility after installation.
Can an existing lighting installation be retrofitted with smart controls, or does it need to be replaced?
In most cases the fixtures don't need replacing — DALI or 0-10V control gear can often be retrofitted onto existing LED fixtures, and in some cases into existing driver wiring. We assess the existing installation during a site survey to confirm what can be retrofitted versus what needs replacing before quoting.
